Department of Zoology

Introduction

    The department of Zoology was established with the establishment of institution in 1971. Total 05 faculties are engaged in teaching UG classes. Experts from various biological fields are invited to deliver their lectures. Department emphasize on co-curricular activities for the students through arranging field visits, excursion tours and bird watching sessions. Extension activities such as wild life week celebration and vermicompost plant are run successfully by the department. The research laboratory of the department is recognized in 2019 by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati to conduct research work for the award of Ph. D. degree of the University with 05 sanction seats.

Mission

•     To provide educational opportunities to socially and economically deprived sections,particularly rural masses.

•     To impart qualitative, value based and career-oriented education for personality development of students.

•     To develop physically, mentally and socially healthy students to enforce and build up healthy society.

•   To create social awareness, health consciousness, civil responsibilities, leadership qualities and scientific attitude among the students to     generate good citizens.

•     To develop confidence, self- reliance, courage, sense of equity, equality and involvement in decision making process among the girl students.
