About NIRF

National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September 2015.

This framework outlines a methodology for ranking institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations and broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions.
About 4000 institutions participate every year in the rankings..

The ranking parameters are :

1. Teaching, Learning and Resources (40%)
2. Research and Professional Practices (15%)
3. Graduation Outcomes (25%)
4. Outreach and Inclusivity (10%)
5. Perception (10%)
