KNOWLEDGE RESOURCE CENTRE
The Central Library of the college was established in 1960 with the establishment of the college. At that time of establishment college library had only 528 books. Total area of the library is 246.58 sq. meter with well ventilated, lighted up and comfortably furnished. The Reading hall renewed again in 2009-10 with latest POP, lighting well equipped 75 users seating capacity and reference collection retaining the ambiance of its heritage structure making it energy efficient. In reading hall 10 computers with internet / WI-Fi access to the students and well protected with fire extinguisher and CCTV security systems. Computerized library have 34394 books, 21 Journals & Periodicals. Inflibnet and remote accessing e-books and e-journals. Reference section, circulation counter, Staff reading room, The Library rendered various user friendly services. The library remains open for 9 hours on all working days morning 09.00 am to 6.00 pm.The Library is the heart of knowledge and information and it is an essential and integral component of our institution. 32 Journals, Periodicals, and Magazine 138 CD/DVDs. It has INFLIBNET facility for accessing 31,35,000 e- books and 6000 e-journals and Remote Access Database.
Library Lay-Out
Total area of the library is 2580 sq. meter with well ventilated, lighted up and comfortably furnished at the first floor of the building with seating capacity of about 100 . The library remains open for 8 hours on all working days 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, except Sundays and public holidays, before and during examination. During vacation working time is 7.30 am to 3.30 pm. The facilities offered include carrel, lounge area and IT zone. It also includes reading room for staff and students , Stack room, Librarian cabin and circulation counter.

Role and Function
The library plays an important role in the present education system. A well-equipped and well-managed library is the foundation of modern educational structure. It is the responsibility of the library to collect, preserve, organize and disseminate all kinds of reading materials for the purpose of profound use by the readers of an educational institution to which it is concerned. The library is a mirror that reflects the culture and activity of the educational institution and it measures up the standards of the institution. Therefore, the library is said to be the heart of the educational institution. At the turn of the present century, a number of reports concerning formal education came out, to mention a few, the Mudliyar Report, Radhakrishna Report, Kothari Commission Report, etc. All these reports have reportedly emphasized the importance of libraries in higher education. Effective use of the library is always a necessary complement to the functions of higher educational institutions. Education System should be integration and co-ordination between the classroom and the library, which brings out the fruitful result in building up the overall development of the personality of the student. The library is a service institution.
